Why do people even bother putting a © or link to their site on their pictures they put out on the internet? It's common knowledge that any being on Earth with a brain and appendages can Photoshop that copyright straight off of your picture and claim it as their own.

- EXAMPLE -

Sorry, Tex Jernigan -- that shit is MINE now!

And why the fuck would you try to copyright a picture that you plan to share on your website for free anyways...what's the point??

"Oh, you can't use this picture that I let the entire world see for free because it's fucking copyrighted. If you post this shit on your website I'll sue the dick off of you!"

Fucking stupid!!

...and yes, watermarks are just as stupid.

Look, I can see where maybe you'd copyright a book, a movie, or even a CD so that you know you are the only one who has the rights to sell and distribute it...physically. But the second you broadcast that shit on TV or upload it to your website, well, it's toast. Done. Game over. That shit is now for public use whether you like it or not.

Deal with it.

If you look close enough, you can see the AP put their "Associated Press" tag on the picture of the two pictures being compared, thus using the picture of the painting that was copyrighted that they say he stole that was copyrighted.
I'm fucking lost; what the hell was my point again?

Bottom line:

You won't see me cramming links and copyrights all over my shit because I know two facts:

  1. Someone will browse to my site, see something they like, and put it on photobucket or e-mail it to someone who will put it on photobucket.

  2. I went to your site, saw something I could use to get my point across, took your copyright off and plastered it all over the place like it was mine.

This picture I "took" is totally awesome, isn't it?!
