Bullying has been the topic of many news reports, and TV talk shows lately, and every single one of the sources makes it seem like bullying is something new or is on the rise. Yeah?
Here's some news for you:
I guarantee you that bullying has been around long before there was even such a thing as school.
If you can disprove this, please email me your proof and I'll send the first person to give me solid proof a sum of $5.00 for your time.
So, yeah, bullying isn't anything new...and it sure as hell isn't anything new at school, but it's not an "epidemic" like everyone is making it out to be. And by looking at any of the charts on the IES website, it looks like all of these stats have gone down since 1993.
The Internet Hate Machine
Because of the internet, the world has obviously become smaller. Everyone knows that. But I have this theory that what most people don't realize is that now that everything anyone does can be put out for the world to see, you're obviously going to be seeing alot more of the bad stuff that people used to do in private (or on another continent) than you would before the technology existed.
So now people like Mr. Hands and goatse, who would have been fucking horses and stretching their assholes to epic sizes in secrecy, can now put their wonderful freakshows online for everyone to see... and people do see them. Lots of people. Which, in turn, makes all the over-protective mothers out there lose their fucking minds and make claims that the world is a much sicker place than it used to be, and that Armageddon is coming.
All of these over-reactions happen because now, all of a sudden, they have easy access to the creeps and weirdos of the world that weren't quite as accessible before:
Did you really think this was anything new?
Answer: NO!
There have been freaks, assholes, and bullies since the Dark Ages. There was probably some freak caveman out there raping dinosaurs and sticking rocks up his ass at some point in time. Shit, what about Vlad The Impaler? That dude was a REAL fucking bully. You didn't want to fuck with that guy, or you'd end up with a pike through your ass and all the way out your mouth with 3 babies skewered through your chest just for show.
Now THAT is a guy you don't want to go to school with!
And this brings me back to bullying, or more specifically "Cyber Bullying". Just because the internet happens to be a host for assholes (like me) doesn't automatically make everyone on the net an asshole. However, now that the assholes from school have spilled over to the internet, the kids getting picked on in real life are now getting picked on via the webs.
This is where common sense comes into play. Ok, so maybe you're having trouble avoiding bullies in real life because you have to go to school. It's practically a requirement until high school. I'll give you a little slack on that. But if you're getting picked on or bullied on the internet, here's a tip:
GET OFF THE GODDAMN COMPUTER
IF YOU'RE SO FUCKING FRAGILE!!
If you're gonna kill yourself over what someone says to you on the internet, then you probably needed to die anyways. That's the way I see it. And if that's you, and you're reading this, then I'm your cyber bully and welcome to your personal Internet Hell: Go kill yourself!
I sure as fuck know I'm not about to hurt myself over what some asshole in Guatemala says about me in a forum. I could care less. I have the uncanny ability to not give a shit what some anonymous cockwad has to say about me. And if for some reason I feel the need to entertain their opinion, I usually tell them I'm going to hunt down their mother and rape her in the ass with a 16" flaming dildo, a pair of pliers, and a pound of cashews. End of story.
See? It's not hard to be a tough guy on the internet, because no one knows just how big of a pussy you really are. You gotta grow some balls, man up, and put their opinions to rest...and if you don't feel like you're up to it then GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Somewhere safe. Shit, just spend your time browsing Oprah forums or some shit.
It's really easy to NOT get bullied on the internet. You just need to take your fragile ass somewhere else. And if "all your friends" are using myspace and you want to be there too, then you have to accept the idea that "my"space is not actually YOURspace. Anyone can lurk there...if you don't like it, then fuck off to somewhere you know is safe, or go outside and play with your friends...
...you know, in the REAL WORLD:
Another issue I have with this crap is that there are far too many idiots out there trying to "fix" this "problem". The problem with this is that there's nothing to fix. Things happen to people; good things and bad things. And those things shape each individual into who they will be...if not for bad things happening to some people, we'd all be a bunch of fucking clones and drones. Message to all mothers and pussies: You can't fix all the world's problems because most of the world's problems are caused by people; people just like you!
This shit was on Dr. Phil a few days ago too, and there was this fat kid who posted dirty comments to his friend on myspace (you know, as a total joke), and Dr. Phil got a hissy and said, "What gives you the right to do this? To post these messages about someone?"
Oh, I'll tell you who gives you the fucking right, Dr. Phil...it's the fucking First Amendment to the United States Constitution -- THAT'S what gives me the right, Dr.Fuckwad!
And if you saw this episode, it wasn't about helping people deal with bullying as much as it was about shilling his faggot son's book about how to solve bullying:
Usually, this is the case anyways. It's always some self-righteous dick shitter trying to sell you a book to solve your problems, or someone trying to get their face on the news for their 15 minutes. It's either that, or like this one bitch who was on Dr. Phil talking about how there need to be fucking laws against bullying.
Are you fucking serious, lady?!
Laws against not getting along with someone? Now how are you going to implement that shit? Why are there always people trying to fight wars against things that are ideological (drugs, terror, radicalism), or something completely objective to the person it's happening to (being picked on, harassment)?!
There was one lady on the show who tried to say bullying needs to be considered a CRIME...a fucking crime! All because someone posted some dirty shit about her son on myspace, and for some reason the son thinks that colleges won't accept him if they read this myspace page. Are you serious? You really think college boards have nothing better to do than look up your myspace page and see if anyone said anything bad about you before they make a decision on whether or not to accept you (and your money) as a student?
Get real, kid!
Then another lady came on the show boasting about how she got a law passed called "Jeffrey's Law" because her high-school aged son hung himself in his closet over a guy posting shit about him on an online forum. And this "law" basically states that if a school doesn't report bullying and stop a certain amount of bullying every quarter, then the school loses grants and funding...therefore everyone suffers. Good job lady, good fucking job.
So, because your frail-minded faggot son killed himself over some WORDS, you got a law passed that fucks over the school and everyone in it; INCLUDING THE OTHER STUDENTS WHO ARE THERE TO LEARN! Yeah, way to go, bitch...
And Dr. Phil was all proud of this shit too. He was all talking about how glad he is that there are people passing laws to stop bullies.
What's really dumb about the whole thing is that the people who really care about bullying are the ones who are being bullied, and the only "solution" to this is to get your kid (or yourself) a pair of balls and learn to stand up for themselves. In the real world, once you're out of school and your parents' grips, you have to fend for yourself. There isn't going to be someone holding your hand when you're getting mugged, raped, robbed, or picked-on in your adult life. You have to deal with it.
Take this guy I work with as an example: He's a fucking adult, working in the real world with all the other regular adults, except this guy is a worthless sack of shit. So, he gets picked on. Hell, I pick on the guy sometimes. Why? Because he can't do his fucking job; the same job I'm doing and getting paid the same amount to do, he stinks like man funk and shit just about every other day, and no matter how many times you correct his mistakes he continues to make the same fucking mistakes!!
You gotta grow up BEFORE you leave high school, man. If you don't then you're in for a world of being made fun of and being taken advantage of for your whole life.
So, if you're being bullied at school, it's plain and simple: You have to learn to stand up for yourself ON YOUR OWN, or at least ask someone to help you learn how to defend yourself in and outside of school. And if for some crazy reason, the government or school board needs to get involved, the only thing I could see benefiting the "victims" being bullied at school is if they implemented a completely optional alternate class instead of PE ...Self-Defense.
That's right. Teach these frail fuckers to fight for THEMSELVES, because if YOU keep fighting for them and passing legislature to help pussies keep being pussies, then that's all they're ever going to be...
A bunch of whiny-ass pussies.
